Linen is a natural fibre, light and breathable, that helps regulate temperature and feels especially comfortable against the skin. It carries a long cultural history, traditionally associated with purity, light, clarity and ritual, qualities that connect naturally with the philosophy behind every SOICHU garment.

Every vest is cut, stitched, and finished in a small Balinese atelier. The bark is gathered by hand from the jungle floor, washed, dried, and selected one piece at a time.
We make a handful of vests at a time, never more than the hands can hold with care.

Yes. Each bark closure is gathered by hand from the jungle floor and chosen one piece at a time. No two pieces of bark, and no two vests, can ever be identical.
Yes. For €39 total you can send us your measurements via WhatsApp after reserving, and we will tailor the vest to you.
Each vest is cut, stitched, and finished by hand in a small Balinese atelier, in batches of around ten pieces. The bark is gathered from the ground, never taken from living trees.
